We watched a video clip and discussed the use of plot elements in film. We practiced our vocab words by writing the 8 sentences under Vocabulary Practice on page 60. In Social Studies, we completed our notes on Chapter 1 and tomorrow will look at the journeys of Christopher Columbus.
Period 3 -
We watched a video clip and discussed the use of plot elements in film. We practiced our vocab words by writing the 8 sentences under Vocabulary Practice on page 60; we also reviewed the comprehension questions we answered in class yesterday. If you were absent, please complete the sentences on page 60 (1-8 in vocabulary practice).
Period 5 -6
We watched a video clip and discussed the use of plot elements in film. We discussed the way story elements are captured in media. Remember that we will have our first vocab test on Thursday. In Social Studies, we prepared skits covering the different parts of Columbus' journey to America, looking at the viewpoints of the Native Americans (Taino) as well as those of the sailors, the King and Queen of Spain and Columbus himself. Each group presented key points and we took notes on those. If you were absent, make sure to get these notes from a friend prior to our first Social Studies test on Friday. This test will be an open note test; it is important that you do have all of your notes on Chapters 1 and 2 with you in class!
