Block 1
Complete your Social Studies homework for tomorrow (see yesterday's post for page numbers and details); finish page 29 in your JA book if you didn't complete it in class (use pages 30, 31 and 32 to help you with the risk benefit analysis); bring a flash drive tomorrow as we will be working on the Compare/Contrast essay.

Block 2
We will continue working on our Compare/Contrast essay tomorrow; bring a flash drive if you want to save it so you can work on it at home!

Social Studies homework: On page 227, define the following terms:
Suffrage; who could vote under the A/C?
Ratification; what does it mean and why did it take a long time to happen?
Land Ordinances of 1785 and 1787 –
Northwest Territory – Explain how new lands were brought into the Union

Examine the three documents on pages 228 and 229 and answer the two questions next to each doc.

These assignments will be due on Thursday, December 1, 2011.

For Language Arts, keep working on your Compare/Contrast essays - these will be peer edited next Wednesday...not tomorrow!

Block 2 -
We began reading The Outsiders in class, reader's theater style. We also worked in the lab on our Compare/Contrast essays. We have one more visit to the lab prior to peer editing next Wednesday.


Block 3 -

Block I

We turned in Reading Logs after filling out Independent Reading Reflection sheets. You are now ready to begin reading pages for Trimester 2. You will have the same 1000 page requirement for Trimester 2. In Social Studies, we completed our first JA Lesson - we checked our math after filling out balance sheet -- finally agreed on the right answer!

Block 2

We turned in Reading Logs after filling out Independent Reading Reflection sheets. You are now ready to begin reading pages for Trimester 2. You will have the same 1000 page requirement for Trimester 2.

Block 3

We turned in Reading Logs after filling out Independent Reading Reflection sheets. You are now ready to begin reading pages for Trimester 2. You will have the same 1600 page requirement for Trimester 2.

In Language Arts, we worked on our final paper for Light in the Forest (due Friday) and the Independent Reading projects (due Wednesday). Focus for today; imbeding text in a written paper; All reading pages are due NEXT Wednesday, November 23.

For Social Studies, we compared and contrasted the strengths and weaknesses of the Colonists/British at the onset of the Rev. War. For tonight; Read Chapter 12 in Light in the Forest.

Block 2

We discussed and took notes on our vocab definitions for this week; please see me if you were absent!
For Social Studies, we completed recording 9 events relating to Colonial Unrest and analyzed the degree of unrest caused by each~

Block 2
We read Chapter 7 in Light in the Forest: complete Chapter 8 on your own and answer the questions you were given today by the beginning of class on Thursday.
We went over our vocab words for this week; you should have both definitions and page numbers written down so you can reference the words in the book.

Block 3
We worked on short response questions for Chapters 7&8 in The Light in the Forest;
