Block I
Lots of book keeping items today - make sure to have your parents sign your planner agreement papers and return them to me either tomorrow or Friday. All of you should also have returned your signed Locker Agreement.

Today, we discussed the Independent Choice Reading program; you have the handouts and logs. You may download and print any additional copies that you need from my website. We examined our personality types as related to our learning styles and discussed ways our personalities might impact our classroom success.

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! I am so excited to be your teacher and look forward to a busy, productive and wonderful 8th grade year. Please take a moment and browse through the "Files" tab - you should find e-versions of all of your handouts. I will also be posting powerpoint presentations and other important documents that you will need during the school year. Your first assignment is to read through the syllabus and parent letter, detach the signature section at the bottom of the parent letter and bring it with you to class by Friday. You will also find contact information for me and a copy of your second assignment, The Personal Timeline. I will also be posting a September Calendar with major assignment due dates and class activities by Friday.
