Period 1 and 2
We finished the story "The Elevator" in our literature books and discussed plot lines and conflict. We shared the stories we had created in our small groups, and discussed the elements of plot. For Social Studies, we organized our binders, making sure we had a tab for Social Studies Notes in our binders. We added the section on The Middle Ages to our notes on the Vikings (Chapter 1.3) We will finished section 1.3 tomorrow.
Period 3 - We finished the story "The Elevator" in our Lit. Books and discussed plot. We then created our own story outlines (George and Bobby went to the bowling alley....) and Mrs. H read some of them to the class.
Period 5 and 6- We finished the story "The Elevator" in our Lit. Books and discussed plot. We then created our own stories in table groups (George and Bobby went to the bowling alley....). When we finished, each group shared their story out loud with the class. There was evidence of much creative and descriptive writing!
We finished with a powerpoint on the Middle Ages, and were introduced to Maslow's hierarchy of needs as related to history and civilization. We will complete Chapter 1.3 tomorrow! No homework tonight! :)
