We read our independent choice books in class - make sure you are filling out your reading logs. We discussed our 10 new vocab words (page 119 in our lit books- test Friday) and practiced using context clues to identify the meanings. For social Studies, political cartoons were analyzed in class; find our own cartoons to analyze and bring them in, along with the completed questions, to share in class on Wednesday. For tomorrow complete outlining Chapter 3.4 in Cornell format.
Block 2
We defined our new vocab words and created mimes for some. See page 119 in your LitBooks for a list of the words. We thought about times we have been scared in preparation for reading tomorrow.
Block 3
We identified new vocab words(see page 119 in your lit books)and created short skits for all but two. We did some preliminary activities to prepare for reading a memoir tomorrow; bring the lists you generated in your table group with you to class tomorrow if you didn't already turn them in. We discussed political cartoons, took a short survey of our previous knowledge and analyzed some in class. For Wednesday, find a political cartoon of your own and complete the questions. For tonight; outline Chapter 3.4 in your Social Studies book using Cornell style notes. Please include at least two graphics or key words for each starred section.
