Period 1-2

We read silently and filled out our in class reading logs. We reviewed the vocabulary from the short story, "Roughing It" (page 706 in our Lit book)and completed a vocabulary worksheet. Vocab test will be on Thursday! We also practiced finding opposites to our vocabulary words. In Social Studies, we reviewed the problems facing the framers of the Constitution and predicted what compromises they might have made on some of the major issues. Tomorrow, we will find out the rest of the story and see what compromises they actually agreed on in the Constitution.

Period 3 -
We read silently and filled out our in class reading logs. We reviewed the vocabulary from the short story, "Roughing It" (page 706 in our lit book), and completed a vocabulary worksheet; we also practiced finding opposites to our vocabulary words. The vocab test will be on Thursday. We completed some of our investigation into the life of Mark Twain, and watched a short video on his life. We will begin reading his book, Tom Sawyer, next week.


Period 5 and 6

We read silently and filled out our in class reading logs. We reviewed the vocabulary from the short story, "Roughing It", and completed a vocabulary worksheet. We also practiced finding opposites to our vocabulary words and looked at the Latin root for "leg". In Social Studies, we finished our Compromises Worksheet and filled in what really happened. We also defined the vocabulary on page 241 (1 and 2) in our Social Studies book and took notes on a ppt on Chapter 8.4.
