Period 1 and 2

We took our vocab test, nearly finished our fact sheet on background info for Mark Twain/Tom Sawyer, and completed 10 minutes of reading and reflecting.

For Social Studies, we took notes on Chapter 8.4 - we learned about the Bill of Rights and the word RATIFICATION. Tomorrow, we will begin "digging" into the actual Constitution!

For homework - we will only have five or six minutes in class to complete the fact sheet for Mark Twain. If you need more time than that, please make sure to work on it for homework! Come to class with any questions that you need answered in order to finish!

Period 3
We visited the library; took a vocab test and most of us completed the fact sheets on Mark Twain. If you didn't finish during the class period, please complete and have it ready to turn in at the beginning of class tomorrow. Also, please remember that our independent reading takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have an 800 page reading requirement for independent reading this trimester, and this time can really help you accomplish that, plus earn points for filling out the inclass log. Remember, you still need the forms filled out for each book you complete; this is a separate requirement from the inclass logs!

Period 5 and 6

We took our vocab test; read and reflected in our independent books; discussed slang, idioms and dialect; created our own examples and then examined some examples from Tom Sawyer, attempting to identify the examples as one of the three types! Also, we had a fire drill, so the Constitution will have to wait until tomorrow!
