Current Event – Due Wednesday
For Wednesday, find two current events that relate to two of our potential debate topics. Bring in the articles and be able to explain if they are supporting (pro) the topic as stated, or against (con) the topic as stated. For example, if the topic is #7. – The Death Penalty Should be Abolished – find an article about the death penalty and figure out if the writer supports (pro) or does NOT support (con) the position that the death penalty should be abolished.

Period 3 -
We finished The Outsiders and completed a short, written response.
Block 2
We finished The Outsiders and wrote a compare/contrast on characterization or setting. We divided into our debate teams; due Wednesday - your 14 possible topcs (pro/con statements); two current events related to two different topics, and your statement as to whether your article/news story supports a pro or con position on the topic. Debate groups should have their topics identified.
