Period 1 and 2
We read Chapters 11 and 12 in Light in the Forest; we will finish the book in class on Thursday! In Social Studies, we reviewed our French and Indian War Maps and discussed the outcome of that conflict. We also read 6.2 and learned about the Proclamation that angered the colonists.
Finally, we spent some time in the computer lab working on our final JA projects, which are due on Friday! Don't forget!

Period 3 -
We finished Light in the Forest and ended with class discussion; each of you received the final essay question, which is to write Chapter 16 - what will happen next in the novel! You have a brainstorm sheet and an explanation of the assignment; I will provide class time on Thursday for typing....

Period 5 and 6

We reviewed the French and Indian War and Proclamation of 1763; we took a short quiz and found out that the new policy was actually FAKE - it was only used to help us see how people feel about unfair taxes, or taxes that they perceive to be unfair. We are trying to understand the emotions of revolution. We formed new table groups and began looking at some of the taxes levied on the colonists by the British, and how they reacted to them. We began to decide which ones were the most upsetting to the colonists.

Upcoming assignments: Due on Friday: The JA Poster; Chapter 16 (Light in the Forest)
